‘False Equivalent!’ ‘View’ Excuses Dems Inciting Violence; Accuses DeSantis of ‘Killing Us All’

Posted on 08 February 2021

The View hosts displayed their usual double standards for Democrats on Monday’s show on two separate topics; impeachment and coronavirus leadership.  Lately the hosts have obsessively opened every show with trashing the GOP as the Q-Anon party that Republicans with a backbone cannot stay a part of. Today they touted Rep. Liz Cheney of Wyoming defending her impeachment vote against President Trump, but Whoopi Goldberg was offended by Sen. Rand Paul’s argument that Democrats are guilty of inciting violence against their political enemies. First, ABC played a clip of Paul on Fox News yesterday tearing apart the Democrats’ impeachment argument: SEN. RAND PAUL [R-KY]: I think you're going to see the Trump defense, play video of Maxine Waters telling crowds to mob the Trump administration and restaurants, and attack them. They'll probably show clips of Cory Booker saying, get up in the face of these congresspeople. You'll probably see comments from Representative Omar wishing and celebrating the violence that happened to me when I had six lungs broken and part of my lung removed. Are we going to impeach and potentially criminally prosecute people for political speech when they get and say 'get up and fight for your country. Let your voices be heard.' You can't just criminalize Republican speech and ignore all the Democrats who have incited violence.  Whoopi immediately scoffed at this sound argument and denied there was any comparison: “So Rand Paul, you know you can't -- that's a false equivalent. You can say Maxine Waters told people to get in people's faces or people like Chuck Schumer said -- we can point to 565 million times you-know-who incited violence!” she insisted. The host added that compared to the former president inciting violence “millions” of times, Democrats only did it “six” times: “One, two, three, four, five, six. Bad ideas perhaps, but 100 million bad ideas from the man who told people to two and take care of business like that, come on!” she sighed. Later, the liberal hosts again showed how they give Democrats a pass when talking about coronavirus.  Sunny Hostin bashed Governor Ron DeSantis for the Super Bowl post-game celebrations in Florida saying he allowed a “superspreader event” and was going to “kill all of us:” I just kept on thinking, superspreader event, superspreader event, superspreader event, and I was thinking about governor DeSantis with, you know, lifting all of the restrictions. I thought, you know, Florida is going to kill all of us. I really felt that way, and there really should be no reason why wearing a mask has been politicized the way that it has been. There should be no reason why Governor DeSantis has been so woefully inadequate in terms of protecting the people not only of Florida, but the people of the United States. Imagine all those -- those people those 14,500 ticket buyers who are now going to fly back somewhere and go back to their communities and go on infect other people. I just thought it was despicable and disgusting. Florida is doing better than New York in both cases and deaths per capita and that seems to outrage the lockdown-obsessed liberal media. While Hostin bashes DeSantis, she and her co-hosts praised New York’s Governor when they had him on the show in October, helping him sell his own ego-stroking book and praising him for his leadership. At the time, Hostin gushed, “Governor, few people have a better understanding of how to manage the pandemic than you do!” Joy Behar followed up with her own flattery: “What are we missing [about the virus]? Tell us!" TidyCats sponsor The View, contact them at the Conservatives Fight Back page here. RAND PAUL [R-KY]: I think you're going to see the Trump defense, play video of Maxine Waters telling crowds to mob the Trump administration and restaurants, and attack them. They'll probably show clips of Cory Booker saying, get up in the face of these congresspeople. You can't just criminalize Republican speech and ignore all the Democrats who have incited violence.  WHOOPI GOLDBERG: So Rand Paul, you know you can't -- that's a false equivalent. You can say Maxine Waters told people to get in people's faces or people like Chuck Schumer said -- we can point to 565 million times you-know-who incited violence. So so I'm just going to point that out. One, two, three, four, five, six. Bad ideas perhaps, but 100 million bad ideas from the man who told people to two and take care of business like that, come on! Sunny, how much of this is going to be an uphill battle in terms of getting a conviction?  SUNNY HOSTIN: I think it's very unlikely that there will be a conviction against Donald Trump. I mean, we already saw that 45 out of 50 Republicans in the Senate think that the trial shouldn't even be going on. They think it's unconstitutional, led by Senator Rand Paul, and it just seems to me that when you need 17 Republicans to be brave enough to stand up and say that, you know, a twice impeached, disgraced former president led an insurrection on our democracy, on our Capitol, and that's wrong, I think -- I just don't think it's going to happen….. … SUNNY HOSTIN: I got to tell you in watching 22,000 fans in the stadium yesterday, most wearing masks, but then afterwards revelers running all around without masks, I just kept on thinking, superspreader event, superspreader event, superspreader event, and I was thinking about governor DeSantis with, you know, lifting all of the restrictions. I thought, you know, Florida is going to kill all of us. I really felt that way, and there really should be no reason why wearing a mask has been politicized the way that it has been.
