CNN or DNC? Don Lemon Trashes Ted Cruz, Hails AOC and Beto, But It’s ‘Not About Politics’

Posted on 21 February 2021

On Friday night’s CNN Tonight, host Don Lemon continued the liberal media’s obsession with bashing Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) over his trip to Cancun. Lemon went on a four-minute rant which he declared was “not about politics” as he relentlessly pummeled Cruz for not “taking responsibility.” He also praised Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and former Democratic Senate and presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke for their “leadership” during the crisis in Texas. Lemon began his partisan attack by dismissing Cruz’s apology and eviscerating him for going on that awful Fox News to explain the situation:     LEMON: So, this is what Ted Cruz could have done, right, because we all have messed up before. And when you truly apologize, people accept it or not. But if you do it, you know, you do it and it’s heartfelt, you do it. This is what would have shown leadership though, okay? For one thing, he could’ve apologized. He didn't. He just said, I screwed up. He didn't really apologize. Instead, he went right on to Fox News, of course. Fox News to make excuses. Oh, you can be a dad and a Senator at the same time, Senator. I don't know what all of the uproar is about. Really? He could have gotten off that plane from Cancun because it was the daytime and he could’ve gone right out into the community to help. Lemon has spent much time blasting Cruz for the Cancun trip, which has helped him to distract his audience from the fact that his buddy Chris Cuomo’s brother Governor Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) was caught covering up the nursing home deaths that he caused by sending COVID patients to nursing homes. In fact, not just CNN, but the liberal media in general has shown that it would rather focus on Cruz going on vacation than Andrew Cuomo causing and covering up COVID deaths. The liberal media also had little to say when Austin Texas’s Democratic mayor Steve Adler sent a video while vacationing in Mexico telling the people of Austin not to travel.  As for bashing Fox News for bringing on Cruz to discuss the controversy, Chris Cuomo brought on Andrew Cuomo last May to do PR for him and make jokes about giant nasal swabs instead of addressing his brother’s deadly executive order. Lemon continued to ravage Cruz for not “taking responsibility” and offered two democrats, AOC and O’Rourke as prime examples of leadership during the winter crisis in Texas: He could’ve gone to a food bank. Could’ve gone to a water distribution center. Unless, you know, they were serving water at the -- wherever he’s doing the Fox News interview. There are a whole lot of things that he could’ve done like, say, he could’ve, you know, raised money to help Texans in need. But the fact is his mere presence as a public servant who was elected by the people of Texas, that was a lot. But instead, Cancun, beach. So, taking responsibility as a public servant, that is what Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez did. Look at your screen. AOC tweeting, she’s raised $2 million, flying to Texas to help distribute supplies. Flying to Texas. She wasn't elected by the people of Texas. Ted Cruz as an elected representative of the people of Texas had talked a lot of, you know what, trash about her but she’s helping the people, she’s helping his constituents. She flew to Texas, not to Cancun. And how about Beto O'Rourke, who lost the 2018 Senate race to Ted Cruz? He ran a virtual food bank to connect senior citizens in Texas with resources during the disaster.  Ah yes, great leaders such as AOC who is a self-admitted socialist and advocates for the “abolition of capitalism” and O’Rourke who crashed his car while drunk driving and tried to flee from the scene. Lemon then ludicrously declared that his extremely partisan monologue was “not about politics” and asked “how much does Texas have to take,” implying that Texans should put Democrats in power and vote out Cruz: This is not about politics. This is not about Republicans or Democrats. This is about doing the right thing. This is about leadership and helping people, the people you were elected to serve. So back to my original question. How much does Texas have to take? People lining up for water after days without power, more freezing weather ahead tonight. What will it take to make sure nothing like this happens again? Somehow it is hard to believe that this angry rant from the guy who claimed that those on “the right” need “to be deprogrammed” and that all Trump voters are in a coalition with the “Klan” and “Nazis” is “not about politics.” CNN is not a news network but an advocacy group which is dedicated to smearing Republicans and praising Democrats. This Democratic propaganda was sponsored by Morgan Stanley and Kia. Let them know here if you think they should be sponsoring this content.
