CNN’s Political Director: DC Lighting Display Like ‘Biden’s Arms Embracing America’

Posted on 20 January 2021

CNN's highly partisan political director,  David Chalian, went into full swoon with an over the top tongue bath of Joe Biden on Tuesday. His gushing was so ridiculously absurd that it has become the subject of much mockery. Here is Chalian completely embarrassing himself with some bizarre imagery from Tuesday night's ceremony to commemorate Americans who died from COVID-19:  CNN's David Chalian says that the side lights on the National Mall's reflecting pool are like "extensions of Joe Biden's arms embracing America." pic.twitter.com/G88C8UCN3C — Daily Caller (@DailyCaller) January 19, 2021   CHALIAN: The contrast on display tonight was so stark. I mean those lights that are just shooting out from the Lincoln Memorial along the reflecting pool, it's almost extensions of Joe Biden's arms embracing America! It was a moment where the new president came to town, and sort of convened the country in this moment of remembrance, outstretching his arms. But he didn't convene the country. There was no crowd there. Chalian couldn't stop there and contrasted his Biden gush with a dose of his typical Trump hate: And contrast that with the video you saw of a disgraced president on his way out at the lowest point of his presidency, at the very end here, by himself, fighting for his political movement to live on.... I just think that sort of isolated moment of Donald Trump inside the White House, versus Joe Biden on the National Mall with an embrace of the country in this dark time on the eve of his becoming the 46th president. You couldn’t get a stronger contrast. Chalian pretty much saves his ire not only for Trump but for almost everyone with the (R) label that he finds so repugnant. An example was in 2012 at the Republican convention in Tampa when Chalian was caught on mic smearing Mitt Romney and his wife on the topic of the fate of the residents of New Orleans hit by Hurricane Isaac by saying, "They aren’t concerned at all. They are happy to have a party with black people drowning." Chalian apologized, but was fired by Yahoo. CNN hired him in 2014. As Biden came in, Chalian wasn't done expressing his delight, acting captivated by the slightest change of removing "elect" from Biden's and Harris's job titles.  Note the change in titles on Biden’s public schedule for tomorrow between noon and 1:40 pm ET pic.twitter.com/w4LVt8sVzx — David Chalian (@DavidChalian) January 20, 2021
