In the fourth month of 2020, Barrett Sports Media’s Jay Mariotti gave to us the dire warning that President Trump is "ignoring the massacre and misery" and the pandemic “might be the end of the world as we know it. … America is losing lives, its economy, its soul. America is losing America.” In the fifth month of 2020, Deadspin blogger Sam Fels gave to us the remarks, "We know he’d (U.S. Senate President Mitch McConnell) make it a law to light your puppy on fire if he thought it would protect the richest among us and keep Republicans in the ascendency. So it should be no surprise that even though he heads the 'KEEP POLITICS OUT OF SPORTS, LIBTARD' party, he’ll happily use sports to cover for his party’s ass allowing thousands to die through sheer incompetence, ignorance, and indifference." It’s like…wearing a hoodie and putting your hands at 10-2…Oh god, I better look out. I’m wearing Nike gear, like what? What are we talking about? … We gotta do better man. Republican Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos is portrayed as a “lightning rod” while Chicago Cubs co-owner Laura Ricketts is an “enthusiastic supporter” of abortion and the LGBTQ movement. Big Tech is defended for preventing the spread of “disinformation,” and LeBron James is praised for fighting voter suppression. In the 12th month of 2020, The Undefeated guest writer Roger Reeves says America is involved in a “killing season” and writes, “America prefers its Black men and women dead. And, if not dead, low. Abject. Strung out.”
