CNN’s Berman FREAKS: Congressional GOP Leaders Say ‘F No’ to Biden’s Call for Unity

Posted on 10 November 2020

Despite careful, multiple, readings of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell's statement [below] regarding President Trump's challenges to the election results, we were unable to divine therein a single f-bomb. But CNN's John Berman would purport to powers exceeding ours. On this morning's New Day, Berman somehow saw an f-word that we missed. Opening the show with an emotional statement [see screencap] worthy of the most partisan Democrat, Berman claimed that after Joe Biden called for unity:  "The response from the outgoing president? No. The response from the administration? Hell no. The response from Republican leaders in Congress? F no."      McConnell was the only Republican congressional leader that Berman mentioned. Here was McConnell's statement, as reported by CNN itself: "In the United States of America, all legal ballots must be counted. Any illegal ballots must not be counted. The process should be transparent — or observable — by all sides, and the courts are here to work through concerns. Our institutions are actually built for this. We have the system in place to consider concerns, and President Trump is 100% within his rights to look into allegations of irregularities and weigh his legal options." Far from a vulgar tirade attacking the validity of the election, McConnell offered a mild-mannered, unobjectionable statement. Can Berman or anyone else contradict McConnell when he says that legal ballots should be counted, illegal ballots should not, and President Trump has a right to look into allegations of irregularities? Here was Berman's response:  The response from the outgoing president? No. The response from the administration? Hell no. The response from Republican leaders in Congress? F no. It’s not that unity isn't a priority for them. Unity seems to be the enemy. It will hurt the fund-raising. It will hurt the base. It will hurt the runoff elections in Georgia. American security, democratic traditions, the moral fabric of the country? Meh. Those can wait. Maybe forever.  Camerota carried the anti-Trump torch that Berman had lit. After Berman dismissed as "bogus allegations" the assertions by the Trump team of voting irregularities, he wondered why Americans should worry about the Trump administration trying to "overturn the outcome of an election." Camerota was only too happy to provide an answer: "If you’re someone who likes evidence, then it is time to worry." Note that while Berman condemned Republicans for refusing to conform to Biden's request for unity, Berman himself hypocritically ignored Biden's call to "put aside the . . . rhetoric that is designed to demonize one another." Berman's remarks were nothing less than one long, ugly attempt to demonize Republicans. CNN's Berman demonizing Republicans was sponsored in part by Shark Vacuums. Contact Shark Vacuums at the Conservatives Fight Back link and let them know what you think of Berman's false and vulgar attack on Republicans.  Here's the transcript. CNN New Day 11/10/20 6:00 am ET JOHN BERMAN: This morning, the President-elect of the United States is calling for unity, and a collective effort to fight a raging pandemic. JOE BIDEN: This election is over. It’s time to put aside the part-, the partisanship, and the rhetoric that is designed to demonize one another. JOHN BERMAN: The response from the outgoing president? This morning, top Republicans led by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell are backing President Trump’s refusal to concede, and trying to delegitimitize President-elect Biden’s victory. Overnight, Attorney General William Barr shattered Justice Department precedent, and instructed federal prosecutors to investigate the bogus allegations of voting irregularities despite the fact that no real evidence has been presented. This is a move deemed so craven by top election-crimes prosecutor in the Justice Department, they [sic] resigned his post in protest overnight. So Americans asking this morning, why should we worry that there's a real effort to overturn the outcome of an election?  ALISYN CAMEROTA: If you’re someone who likes evidence, then it is time to worry. The administration, the Trump administration, is blocking the Biden transition. President Trump is preventing President-elect Biden from getting intelligence briefings and critical funding. President Trump is installing cronies into powerful positions like Secretary of Defense. The Biden team is now considering a legal fight.
