CNN: Those Aren’t Biden Gaffes! They Demonstrate His ‘Empathy’

Posted on 25 November 2020

CNN sought to pull off an incredible double of pro-Biden partisanship on Wednesday morning's New Day. First, by fostering sympathy for the poor guy who may have just been made the most powerful person in the world. Then, somehow transforming his worst traits into wonderful qualities, that his gaffes are actually evidence of "empathy."  New Day co-host Alisyn Camerota kicked things off by trying to make Americans feel bad for Biden. Poor guy can't even "celebrate," and has been a virtual saint in his forbearance of election challenges: "I’m not kidding, Biden’s tone is so measured, it is so seemingly lacking in any sort of resentment or anger about the three weeks of limbo that he’s just lived in. And you know, he’s wanted this his whole life to be president. He’s tried many times to run for president. And now he can’t even celebrate. He’s handed a pandemic, an economic, devastating crisis. And yet he just seems like, I don’t know, Steady Eddie."     Maybe we should start a GoFundMe for Biden, so the guy can go out and celebrate. We hear the French Laundry has a table available.  Then, CNN White House correspondent Jeff Zeleny went back in Obama-style 'Enchanted' Mode, engaging in some modern-day alchemy, magically transforming Biden's leaden gaffes into gold. If the networks aren't spiking the Biden gaffes, they're making excuses for them. He said: ZELENY: The country is going to see the person who many in Washington have known for a very long time. He’s steady, he’s measured, he doesn’t always stay on script. We’ll see if he does that as president. He has a long history, we used to call them gaffes, now, in this climate, it’s something different entirely: empathy is really what shines through. Seriously: what the heck does that even mean? When Biden loses the thread, or makes some outlandish statement, how does that equate to "empathy??" Yup. Cause nothing says "empathy" like calling a woman asking an uncomfortable question a "lying, dog-faced pony soldier"...  Doesn't matter: the MSM's campaign to glorify Biden, and cover for his mistakes, has swung into high gear! CNN trying to evoke sympathy for Joe Biden, and claiming his gaffes are actually "empathy" was sponsored in part by SoFi and Acura Here's the transcript. CNN New Day 11/25/20 7:16 am ET ALISYN CAMEROTA: Okay, so, Jeff, you know, I was talking about this before with John and I’m not kidding. Biden’s tone is so measured, it is so seemingly lacking in any sort of resentment or anger about this, the three weeks of limbo that he’s just lived in.  And you know, he’s wanted this his whole life, to be president. Right? He’s tried many times to run for president. And now he can’t even celebrate. He’s handed a pandemic, an economic, devastating crisis. And yet he just seems like, I don’t know, Steady Eddie. So what’s his plan now? JEFF ZELENY: Look, look, this is exactly who, you know, America elected. He has been confident about his election, really, ever since a couple of days after Election Day. And this is who Joe Biden is. The country is going to see the person who many in Washington have known for a very long time.  He’s steady, he’s measured, he doesn’t always stay on script. We’ll see if he does that as president. He has a long history—we used to call them gaffes. Now, in this climate, it’s something different entirely: empathy is really what shines through really when you’re talking about the economic pain people are feeling, the devastation people are feeling with the pandemic.  So he is already using that bully pulpit to talk about the matter at hand, which is coronavirus. That’s why he is giving a Thanksgiving Day address this afternoon, from here in Wilmington, as President Trump is apparently going to Gettysburg, not to talk about America’s sacrifice, apparently, but to talk about fake voter fraud. So the stark contrast that we really saw throughout the campaign could not be more different here.
