CNN’s Camerota: President Trump ‘Choked Like a Dog’ on Coronavirus

Posted on 22 September 2020

CNN hates Donald Trump so much they love to throw the tone of his own tweets back in his face.  On Tuesday's New Day, the usual Bidenite bluster commenced about how 200,000 Americans are dead, and that's all on Trump. Political reporter Abby Phillp argued Trump is "flailing to convince the American public that he has this situation under control" when he doesn't. Then co-host Alisyn Camerota said the correct Trumpian lingo for his coronavirus response is Trump "choked like a dog."     Camerota employed a variation of the "some would say" dodge that Katie Couric would infamously employ to take a nasty shot that she didn't dare put in her own mouth. In this case, Camerota claimed that it was President Trump himself who would say of another person that he "choked like a dog" if he had handled the virus the same way Trump did. But the words, of course, were Camerota's. It was nothing more than an obvious ruse to get the insult out without her fingerprints on it. Nice try, Alisyn, but your ploy was transparent.  If things appear to be breaking President Trump's way as Election Day approaches, look for the liberal media to get ever more frantic, and vulgar, in their attacks on the president.  Phillip teed up Camerota's "choked like a dog" by saying that Americans "are not going to believe the president when he says, we did an exceptional, fantastic job with the coronavirus. They know better, because they’re experiencing something that is completely different from that." CNN's Camerota accusing President Trump of having "choked like a dog" on the coronavirus was sponsored in part by Liberty Mutual.  Here's the transcript.  CNN NEW DAY 9/22-20 6:17 am EDT ABBY PHILLIP: I mean, there’s no other way to look at this other than as a national tragedy. And the president is having a rally as if it’s not happening. And telling his supporters that they don’t have to worry about it. And I think it’s really — it really encapsulates why we are where we are today, which is that this is a president who is flailing to convince the American public that he has this situation under control . . . They're not going to believe the president when he says, we did an exceptional, fantastic job with the coronavirus. They know better, because they’re experiencing something that is completely different from that. ALISYN CAMEROTA: Abby, one more political point on this. If President Trump were critiquing this of any other leader, and his job of trying to control this virus, he would say he choked. He choked like a dog. That would be President Trump’s lingo.
