It’s not been a secret that MSNBC is a far-left network, but this is a bit much even for the liberal cable channel. Night two of the Republican National Convention endured frequent interruptions from far-left host Rachel Maddow. Maddow offered her own version of "fact checks," expressing annoyance at even having to air the GOP convention.  The host was particularly angry at the appearance of Billy Graham’s granddaughter, Cissie Graham Lynch, talking about religious freedom: “We should just make two notes there. First, obviously, this President campaigned on banning people from this country on the basis of their religion with the Muslim ban. So in terms of him supporting religious freedom, that should be noted. In context, also, the President currently is supporting at least two candidates for Congress who say if you are a Muslim, you should be banned from holding public office in this country.”      She snidely complained, “So those claims about this being a president in support of religious freedom, those should be taken in context in terms of what the President has actually done.” Okay, we get it, Rachel. You’re a Democrat. Imagine how Brian Stelter would freak out if Fox News brought on Sean Hannity to fact check Joe Biden?  But Maddow wasn’t done:  Ms. Lynch also described in her words “faith organizations being forced under the Affordable Care Act to pay for abortion-inducing drugs.” If that doesn't sound familiar to you, let me tell you what she is talking about. What she's referring to there is not actually abortion-induce drugs. She's talking about contraception, and contraception being covered under health insurance because of the Affordable Care Act. The anti-abortion right has decided to say in recent years that contraception including things like the birth control pill, they've decided to call that abortion. So if you take birth control pills you're, like, constantly having abortions all the time. That's what that reference is to. And that may be very familiar rhetoric in the anti-abortion right. She concluded, “So far it’s been a doozy.”  On Monday, MSNBC populated its convention coverage with ex-Republicans and those running the Lincoln Project. Larry Kudlow obviously from the National Economic Council making some -- some factual claims there that deserve a little bit of a second look. Mr. Kudlow saying there is a housing boom, there’s an auto boom, a manufacturing boom, a consumer spending boom. A V-shaped recovery pointing to better than 20 percent growth. He also said the president has successfully fought the COVID virus.
