HYPOCRITES: MSNBC Loved Dem Convention, But Breaks Into ‘Dangerous’ GOP Event

Posted on 24 August 2020

MSNBC journalists, who sat by like good propaganda hacks during the Democratic National Convention, have suddenly been stirred to protect truth. Last week, the partisan hacks at MSNBC offered no fact checking of the Democrats, but on Monday, the cable network repeatedly warned of GOP lies.  At 9:26 p.m. Eastern, Rachel Maddow lamented even having to show the “dangerous” event: “Happy to have you here with us for night one of the RNC. We are broadcasting this by choice. However, it is our responsibility to not broadcast potentially dangerous misinformation, especially of the medical variety.”      At 9:16 p.m. Eastern, Maddow interrupted, “We’re just going to jump in here for another second in terms of the President’s claims there, mostly about COVID but also the postal service. The President talking about his caring about the postal service, caring about postal workers and wanting to take care of them.”  At 9:04 p.m. Eastern, registered nurse Amy Johnson Ford praised the President on combating COVID. An on-screen graphic offered an all-caps “REALITY CHECK.” It read:  FORD: Tump’s COVID-19 leadership saved thousands of lives.  CHECK: The U.S. leads the world in both the number of reported COVID-19 deaths and cases.  In other words, shorter MSNBC: Trump killed a lot of people.  It wasn’t like there weren’t “reality checks” to do on the Democratic convention. There were. But the partisan shills at MSNBC aren’t interested in that.  Last week, MSNBC (and CNN) aired 90 percent of the Democratic convention unfiltered, with little interruption. On August 18, from 9 PM to 11 PM, MSNBC aired 119 out of 120 minutes of Democratic propaganda.  The hypocrisy on MSNBC was sponsored by Volkswagen. The President talking about his caring about the postal service, caring about postal workers and wanting to take care of them. The reason that’s in the news and that’s in this Republican show tonight is because of President Trump’s postmaster general recently having instituted changes to the Post Office that have created real problems, not just threats, but material delays for the mail service all over the country.  (....) 9:26 p.m. Eastern MADDOW: Happy to have you here with us for night one of the RNC. We are broadcasting this by choice. However, it is our responsibility to not broadcast potentially dangerous misinformation, especially of the medical variety. That's why we need to bring in, one more time, Dr. Vin Gupta. He’s a pulmonologist and global health policy expert of the University of Washington Medical Center.
