Jennifer Lawrence: ‘I Don’t Want to Support a President Who Supports White Supremacists’

Posted on 23 October 2020

Jennifer Lawrence said that she used to be a “little Republican.” Now, she’s a little nuts.  "I grew up Republican. My first time voting, I voted for John McCain. I was a little Republican," the actress claimed, according to People.com. However, Donald Trump’s term in office seemed to have broken her, and she announced her support for Joe Biden early in October. "This is an impeached president who's broken many laws and has refused to condemn white supremacy, and it feels like there has been a line drawn in the sand. I don’t think it’s right ... it just changes things for me."  Never mind the fact that Trump was acquitted and that he’s denounced white supremacy many times already. "I don't want to support a president who supports white supremacists," Lawrence said.  Lawrence also claimed that Trump’s election "changed everything." Everything? It just changed who was warming the seat in the Oval Office really. She preferred Barack Obama’s presidency, saying that Americans would "go days, maybe weeks, without thinking about the president because everything would generally be okay." Things were okay because the media wasn’t in full panic mode that their preferred candidate hadn’t won the White House.    Since she disliked Trump, she was obviously eager to expound on why she wanted to vote for Biden. "I'm voting for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris this year because Donald Trump has and will continue to put himself before the safety and well-being of America. He does not represent my values as an American, and most importantly as a human being." But Biden does? Humanity has fallen to new lows if he does.  Lawrence is also a board member of RepresentUs, "an incredible non-partisan movement and anti-corruption organization working to unrig America’s broken political system, and put power back in the hands of the American people." But she also said, "The hope is to make Americans aware of the corruption in our government, so we can vote it out." Speaking of corruption, has she heard of what Hunter Biden was up to in Ukraine?  "I don't want to support a president who supports white supremacists," Lawrence declared. Good news, Lawrence. None of this year’s presidential candidates do.
