Public displays of affection make a lot of people uncomfortable; gay PDA doubly so. But Dan Levy won’t stand for such opinions.  A scene from the TV series Schitt’s Creek that showed two men kissing each other was censored by Comedy Central India. Levy, who created and starred in the series, was not amused and objected against the censorship of the scene. An indiewire.com article reported that Levy tweeted the following statements: “You showed the kiss between two women, you showed the kiss between a woman and a man, then removed the kiss between two men? This is a show about the power of inclusivity. The censorship of gay intimacy is making a harmful statement against that message.”  Power of inclusivity? Gays already are included. In fact, they’re over-represented. The percentage of LGBT characters in main and supporting roles on primetime TV shows is far higher than the percentage of Americans who identify as LGBT, which is 4 percent. And they aren’t satisfied with that. Their new goal is to make a fifth of TV characters LGBT. Now there’s some sort of moral imperative that TV air images of gay men making out? But Levy and others have an agenda. That whole goal to increase the number of gay and lesbian TV characters? Sheer propaganda. It’s like the idea of producing “honest” abortion stories in Hollywood. Normalizing the abnormal is the point.  Too bad some Indians aren’t falling for it.
