Roger Stone Reaffirms Pardon Push For Black Nationalist Marcus Garvey (Video)

Posted on 03 December 2018

In a fiery appearance on ABC’s Sunday hit “This Week”, New York Times bestselling author and legendary political operative Roger Stone reminded the nation that he would never bear “false witness” against President Trump.

According to Yahoo News, Stone said that testifying against Trump would mean that he would have to make something up and that he refused to do so.

“Generally speaking in politics you avoid hypothetical questions. That said, there’s no circumstance under which I would testify against the president because I’d have to bear false witness against him. I’d have to make things up, and I’m not going to do that,” Stone replied to host George Stephanopoulos.

He also reaffirmed his support for a posthumous presidential pardon of iconic Black rights activist Marcus Garvey, who founded the United Negro Improvement Association and inspired future civil rights leaders like Malcom X and Martin Luther King JR.

This is the only pardon Stone has written to President Trump about and has not requested such a pardon for his onetime business associate Paul Manafort. Stone has been subject of the highly political Mueller investigation and has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing or involvement in illegal activity surrounding the 2016 elections.

“Where is the crime? I engaged in politics,” Stone said. “My purpose was to take a tip, which I thought to be solid, and then after that to follow the WikiLeaks Twitter feed and set a Google News alert for ‘Julian Assange’ and use Twitter to hype as much voter and media attention to the disclosures when they came as politics.”
