MSNBC Producer Promotes GoFundMe for Kavanaugh Accuser Dr. Christine Blasey Ford

Posted on 06 October 2018

MSNBC producer Kyle Griffin posted a tweet promoting the GoFundMe page for Dr. Christine Blasey Ford on Saturday, hours before the Senate was set to vote on the Supreme Court nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh–the man Ford has accused, without corroboration, of sexually assaulting her at a small drunken high school party decades ago.

Griffin posted a quote from a statement by Ford from the GoFundMe page and embedded a direct link to the page, “Dr. Ford: “I believed and still believe that it was my civic duty to come forward, but this is by far the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do, much harder even than I thought it would be.” Griffin’s tweet features a now iconic photo of Ford with her eyes closed and her right hand raised as she was sworn in at the Senate hearing two weeks ago. Below the photo in Griffin’s tweet in bold lettering is the message, “Help Christine Blasey Ford”, with a link to the GoFundMe page.

Griffin has nearly 500,000 followers. His tweet had nearly 2,000 likes and over 600 retweets in two hours. Griffin’s Twitter bio reads, “Producer. MSNBC’s . Opinions mine. Do not congratulate.”

A local TV reporter in Minnesota, James Bunner with KTTC-TV, was fired on Friday for wearing a MAGA hat while covering President Trump’s rally in Minnesota the day before.
