REPORT: ESPN Suspended Legendary Reporter Linda Cohn, But Let Jemele Hill Off the Hook

Posted on 13 September 2017

ESPN continues their rapid collapse at the hands of their new pro-social justice, far-left political bias – they are one of many corporate entities attempting to force a radical, progressive political agenda on an audience that does not care. The latest incident involves Jemele Hill – read TGP’s report from yesterday on the initial story here.

Tuesday, ESPN hack Jemele Hill railed against President Trump, along with his supporters, and labeled them all “white supremacists” – she went unscathed given the fact that ESPN is now a far-left corporate stronghold, but when veteran reporter Linda Cohn called out the network’s malpractice in relation to the treatment of their audience, she was told not to come into work to “think about what she had said.”

Back in April, Cohn spoke on WABC’s “Bernie and Sid Show” about the direction of the network, commenting:

“They definitely overpaid for many of the products, whether it’s the NBA or starting up networks like the Pac-12 Network and SEC Network . . . It’s well-documented . . . They [also] did not see that they would lose all these subscribers. But it was more than just that. Politics played a part, as did the network’s move away from strictly covering sports. I felt that the old school viewers were put in a corner and not appreciated with all these other changes. And they forgot their core. You can never forget your core and be grateful for your core group.”

Through and through, Cohn’s comments were to a T factual and ESPN’s statistics would illustrate that she was right in her assessment. This did not fly with ESPN’s president John Skipper who called Cohn and screamed at her for sharing her opinion publicly and told her to stay home instead of coming in to work that weekend.

Skipper had her stay at home so she could “think about what she had said.”

Fast-forward now to ESPN’s latest debacle wherein the network did nothing to reprimand Jemele Hill after she called the president, Kid Rock, and the supporters of the president “white supremacists”.

According to Outkick the Coverage, a sports news website:

Said another, different ESPN personality, “If Jemele can say that and Linda can’t say what she said, what kind of standard actually exists here? There isn’t one. There’s clearly a double standard. If you say things the company agrees with, you don’t get punished. If you say things the company disagrees with, you do get punished. Maybe even fired.”

Another prominent employee who also requested anonymity stated, “If I’d said Obama got elected because he was black is there any way I’d still be employed here? No chance. But Jemele can say Trump got elected because of white racists and no one does anything? They protect the people they agree with politically. They give them better jobs, more money, everyone can see it.”

Another employee recently contacted Outkick and said, “I pretend I’m a Democrat so I can keep my job here. And there are others just like me. We’re like a secret society inside ESPN.”

For many the combination of the Cohn suspension and the Jemele Hill non-punishment was a breaking point.

“I’m tired,” said yet another employee, “of pretending this company is not full of shit.”

Hill’s comments made their way to the White House briefing room where press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders commented on the situation, watch the video below:
