White House Says Kelly Will Bring ‘Discipline’ With All Staff Members Reporting to Him

Posted on 31 July 2017

John Kelly’s first day as Chief of Staff resulted in the removal of now-former communications director Anthony Scaramucci as the White House begins to close ranks and tighten up their chain of command.

Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders commented Monday to reporters that the move to fire Scaramucci was in preparation for what is to be a more “disciplined” structure within the White House:

“General Kelly, I think, will bring a new structure to the White House and discipline and strength.”

Under Reince Priebus, the White House was sloppier and less effective with aides freely coming to the President, but now, under Kelly, the belt will be tightened and the White House will become far more regimented.

Huckabee Sanders commented during the briefing that Ivanka and Jared Kushner will have to report to Kelly just like all of the other aides.

President Trump, prior to Monday’s cabinet meeting, stated that Kelly “will go down as, in terms of the position of chief of staff, one of the greatest ever,” according to the Daily Caller’s Alex Pfieffer.
