Robert Bergdahl is the father of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl who was released after nearly five years of Taliban captivity. Bowe Bergdahl was basically traded for five Gitmo Taliban terrorists, proving that Obama negotiates with terrorists. Robert Bergdahl made a rather intresting tweet on May 28th (then deleted it tonight.) Apparently Robert Bergdahl is working on […]

Mississippi RINO Thad Cochran: Obamacare ‘an example of an important effort by the federal government’

Old crusty RINO loves ObamaCARE. He even admitted it to the Washington Post, saying that ObamaCARE ‘an example of an important effort by the federal government.’ Tell me, is Cochran a Republican? Because he sure sounds an awful lot like a Democrat. Mississippi has a chance to dump this RINO in the GOP primary. It’s […]

Thom Tillls,, who won the North Carolina Republican primary has jumped up to a three point lead over socialist Democrat Kay Hagan. Her voting record is 96% of the time with Obama. Maya Angelou was truly the Barack Obama of poetry

Maya Angelou was truly the Barack Obama of poetry

In a touching tribute to the recently deceased celebrated poet, Maya Angelou, president Barack Obama didn’t spare elevated epithets, praising her as “the Barack Obama of poetry” and taking a few ceremonial selfies with his cell phone, having the poet’s portrait as the backdrop.

The portrait behind Barack Obama features the politically correct depiction of Maya Angelou, his staunchest ally and advocate, holding the first black president in her arms like her beloved child, with the symbolic representation of a “fundamentally transformed” America in the background.

The portrait itself was created back in 2012 by the Department of Visual Agitation and Unanimity at the PeoplesCube.com in recognition of Angelou’s BET Honors award, which celebrated the poet’s unconditional praise of Barack Obama’s presidency while blaming any criticism of his performance on white racism and Republican hatred of the first black president.

The award from the Black Entertainment Television, which in today’s progressive culture is seen as America’s highest civilian honor, conclusively topped the downtrodden author’s previous Presidential Medal of Freedom, three Grammys, a Pulitzer nomination, and 30 honorary degrees – especially considering that it was presented to her on live TV personally by a stalwart entertainer, Michelle Obama, whom Angelou had earlier described as “the grand dame.”

“I thought my heart would burst,” the poet told reporters later, referring to Michelle Obama’s unexpected entrance at the Fifth Annual BET Honors.

For more information about this portrait and a sample of Angelou’s poetry, see our 2012 article, Maya Angelou: ‘Barack Obama has done a remarkable job.’

Ushanka tip to Comrade Margaret for the appropriate headline.

Unanswered VA Scandal Question: Why Is Even a 14-Day Wait For an Appointment Acceptable?

Posted on 31 May 2014

An item which appears to be overlooked in the Department of Veterans Affairs Scandal is the press’s and presumably the public’s blind acceptance of the department’s goal to reduces its average wait times to 14 days as supposedly “aggressive.”

My reaction is that the goal doesn’t seem “aggressive” at all, or even borderline acceptable, based on both personal experience and some admittedly limited research I’ve done on best practices. It seems to me that the average consumer, and for that matter the average journalist, would have a hard time accepting the idea of an average 14-day wait time for a personal appointment involving real urgency. So why should the expectations of or for those who served our country be any lower?

WashPost Critic Ann Hornaday Failed to Explore the Danger of Tucson Shooter’s Favorite Movie — She Loved It, Too

Posted on 31 May 2014

Washington Post film critic Ann Hornaday’s sudden feminist fascination this week with Santa Barbara murderer Elliot Rodger is not her usual modus operandi. A little searching shows Hornaday had nothing to say about other recent mass shooters like Jared Loughner (Tucson), Aaron Alexis (D.C. Navy Yard), Adam Lanza (Newtown) and certainly not Malik Nidal Hasan  (Fort Hood) or Ivan Lopez (Fort Hood II).

In fact, Hornaday easily could have explored Loughner’s movie obsession was with the 2001 film Donnie Darko with Jake Gyllenhaal playing the lead, a film Hornaday adored as a secular’s humanist Passion of the Christ (and adored even more when a director’s cut was issued in 2004):

Despite April Consumer Spending Dip, AP’s Crutsinger Likes Sunny Growth Predictions

Posted on 31 May 2014

After investing so much emotional energy in the idea that the weather-impaired contracting U.S. economy of the first quarter is going to give way to a super-duper awesome second quarter and strong rest of the year, it was foolish to think that Martin Crutsing at the Associated Press, aka the Administration’s Press, would backtrack after just one contradictory report on consumer spending, which “unexpectedly” fell 0.1 percent in April, confounding expectations of a 0.2 percent pickup.

And of course he didn’t. What’s remarkable is that Crutsinger seemed to get even more aggressive with his second-quarter prediction, citing “some analysts” who believe that it will come in at an annualized 4 percent — quite the reversal from the first quarter’s -1.0 percent annualized contraction. Meanwhile, the AP reporter missed a less buoyant report from his colleague Christopher Rugaber which punctured a bit of Crutsinger’s premise. Excerpts from both items follow the jump.

Inevitable: Complaints About How Sterling Is Being ‘Rewarded’ For Racism

Posted on 31 May 2014

I guess the PC sports press was hoping for a high-tech lyching of sorts, wherein Donald Sterling, the owner in limbo who is soon to be former owner of the National Basketall Association’s Los Angeles Clippers, would be frog-marched out of his office and dumped onto Skid Row, never to be heard from again, for his undeniably racist remarks to his now ex-girlfriend about how he didn’t want her bringing blacks to Clippers games while directing racial invective at other specific persons.

It’s not working out that way. In fact, quite the opposite. Former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer is reportedly paying $2 billion for the Clippers. That’s quite a windfall for Sterling, considering that he apparently paid about $12.5 million for the team in the early 1980s and that the team was valued at about $575 million in the most recent related edition of Forbes. At Huffington Post and ESPN, Earl Ofari Hutchinson and Scoop Jackson, respectively, are almost beside themselves.

Rick Perlstein: Today’s Right-Wing Journalists Are ‘Hustlers, Haters, Hacks and Conspiratorial Lunatics’

Posted on 31 May 2014

As a historian, Rick Perlstein has produced two books about Republicans (Before the Storm and Nixonland) in which narrative almost always takes precedence over the author’s lefty politics. As a blogger for The Nation’s website, however, Perlstein treats the right far more harshly. On Thursday, for example, he posted an item called “There Are No More Honest Conservatives, So Stop Looking For One.”

Perlstein reports that there isn’t a single contemporary right-wing journalist he admires, whereas several decades ago, he notes, the estimable likes of William F. Buckley Jr., James J. Kilpatrick, and George Will roamed the earth. (Will, of course, is still around, but Perlstein, as you’ll see below, considers the Will of 2014 essentially a generic Fox News talking head.) He perceives a “neurotic refusal” among liberals and centrists “to accept the reality that conservative intellectualism is a tradition that [has] quite nearly died.”
