Wow, this is a great post! I’m from Illinois originally, and Chicago politics are DIRTY!!! I have a feeling we are going to learn some extremely bad things about Obama when the mainstream media pulls their head out of their rears.

It seems clear upon reflection that obama to obtain 100% fully paid education claimed to be an indonesian muslim if you go to columbia university web site any foreign student accepted will have 100% expenses paid this also expains why he was placed with pakistans muslim as roommates in both cal and ny foreign students housed together.His trip could have been funded by unversity as research. this could explain why academic records have not been released because either obama commited fraud claiming to be a foreign national or fraud claiming to be us citizen running for president

OK, I found this after my well-educated mother repeated this claim that Obama is getting money from the Middle East. If I am not mistaken, all campaign contributions are public so this can be fact-checked. As for paying for Harvard and Columbia, Obama has talked several times about having lots of student loans to pay off. The Ivy League schools also have a strong commitment to keep worthy students regardless of their ability to pay and offer substantial student aid to many students. Just this past year, Harvard decided to offer huge scholarships to families many of us would have considered farily well-to-do not so long ago: “The “Zero to 10 Percent Standard”: Harvard’s new financial aid policy dramatically reduces the amount families with incomes below $180,000 will be expected to pay.” Anyway, it is very sad that anyone would rely on these rumors to vote against Obama. If you disagree with his policies and his politics, vote against him. But not because you rely on some untrue viral email claiming that he’s got all these freaky ties to the Middle East and gets money from them. That’s just sad.

I can’t believe either side really gets it. Barry is too risky, too many unanswered questions. I gotta vote my value system for President. My father taught me right from wrong, and I’m trying to teach my son. My father taught me personal responsibility. Jesus taught us give a man a fish, or teach him to fish. All things my son needs to know. I live by a template handed down by my forefathers, and I will hand that down to my childrens childrens children. Elites? Live in your ivory towers. Look down on me and my ilk. That don’t change a thing. Barry is too risky to the american way of life. McCain is safer.

As for the rest, I’ll vote independent and libertarian, hoping to grow a third party. One that is of, by and for the people.

Because the Democratic party got lost in the 60′s. The Republican party got lost in the 90′s. And neither party even thinks about the interest of our country.

For some reason Democrats want us to get in line and question nothing about a man poised to destroy the republic. Those whol back him will soon find themselves left behind and without jobs. The corporate taxation he is about to give out is going to cause more and more jobs to go over seas for increasing profits because of lower taxes. Who do you think creates jobs? Do you think it is the unemployed? Let’s make sure we help them because soon this will be the largest voting block. SOCIALISM??? In response to Jim (Oct 10th) & Bruce (Oct 11th), above: Don’t you guys read the papers or the internet or watch TV? We already ARE a socialist nation, thanks to the (Republican???) Bush Administration, the Treasury & the Federal Reserve, who now own big chunks of our nation’s banks, as of today. To me, the economic meltdown & our government’s response to it is THE crucial political issue of this election–NOT whether Obama is a Muslim, or what McCain did in the war, or whether Sarah Palin is an incompetent ninny. I mean, get real folks. Any of the promises from EITHER candidate on health care reform, lowering taxes, helping people with their bad mortgages, continuing the war in Iraq/Afganistan, or Medicare/Social Security reforms, etc, etc, will have to be taken with a very VERY large grain of salt. EITHER candidate will have to raise taxes after the election (and probably on everyone, not just the rich) in order to help our country dig itself out of the financial hole that we now inhabit.

That’s funny. And sad. More sad than funny, actually.

Um, who was in office at the time of the 9-11 attacks? We haven’t had another attack SINCE 9-11…. So, you’re giving credit to the guy who was sitting like a stooge in a kindergarden classroom at the actual moment of the attacks? Why? Because there wasn’t a repeat of that? I guess he gets two strikes before responsibility is attributed….

Secondly, Bush hasn’t done anything domestically to protect us after the attacks that any other president wouldn’t have done. Except, perhaps for the constitutional violations. But, we’ll ignore those, until they directly affect you – and you can call your attorney at that time.

Thirdly, you act as if terrorist attacks on US soil are a regular occurrence. Go back before 9-11 and note how far apart they typically are staggered. Not having another once since 9-11 has less to do with any Bush accomplishments and more to do with the natural scheme of things.

Give the president credit for protecting us? HE DIDN’T protect us. 9-11 happened on his watch, didn’t it?

I’ll bet you live in Iowa or West Texas or South Bumblefrick…. Somewhere quite far from any potential terrorist target. Yet, people like you are always the ones so adamant about putting more GOP criminals into office “to protect us.” You and your spurs aren’t in danger. I live in midtown Manhattan. I saw the towers fall FROM MY APARTMENT. Guess who the candidate of choice for New Yorkers and Washintonians is. We have more to lose, and we’re voting for Obama.
