Some people are really slow. If the efforts of the CRA to minimize redlining were really the primary reason for the so-called sub-prime crisis and economic meltdown the World experienced over the last year, most of the foreclosures would be minority-owned, and mortgage related. Strange, but foreclosures have come from all socioeconomic groups and while they started with sub-prime borrowers a couple of years ago, the foreclosures have spread to alt-A and prime loans more recently. Moreover, they have much more to do with the toxic derivatives created on Wall Street, starting with J. P. Morgan’s “Bistro” product which allowed the securitization genie to escape the bottle. Mix with creative ratings, a flawed view of residential real estate appreciation, leverage and greed and you get nirvana for the shadow banking industry. An enterprise that only exists as a result of deregulation, the mistaken perception that anyone is qualified to assess risk and originate loans. Am I overlooking something?

Wow haha. It is hilarious and entertaining watching everyone in here flapping their chops. Why get so riled up about the economy and point fingers at everyone. There are always conspiracies.. finger pointing and someone trying to hang someone else. People who are political fanatics with overboosted opinions… Looking at most of you here… just need attention..

Don’t run around blaming everyone or targeting one individual, like our president.

I’ll say it like this, and I challenge anyone to tell me that I am wrong…

It doesn’t matter who is voted in, they are just a puppet. A pawn. Today presidential success is measured by how many of your proposed promises that you follow through with. During the campaign, they make as many as they can that have a reliable chance of passing or being put into action, but there is always someone tugging the strings in the other direction. Give and take, push and shove and all that crap that goes on behind the scenes. Same thing happened to the Governator, poor guy didn’t understand the extent of greed and corruption, the race for personal gain and prestiege. Many of his promises were knocked down or subverted.

So don’t blame anyone for anything. This world is going to shit and there is nothing we can do to stop it. It’s our imperfect nature to screw everything up.

Point being, don’t waste your breath or time worrying about world or economic conditions. Do your best to provide for yourself and focus your energy on keeping your family and lifestyle going.

Obama has no knowledge or experience in governing a nation – not even a state. If he’s elected, the decline of this nation will be fast and hard. It will come to a point where the media will or can no longer hide his fallacies. I truly expect him to continue where he left off in the senate – often tardy, late or a no-show on legislative issues. I expect him to panic and run when he’s subjected to grave national concerns. It takes a heck of a lot of true moral and ethical character to be a president. The democrats best presidential candidate choices were hardly any better – however they certainly were better, nonetheless. His running is more of an experiment. Too bad they failed to provide somebody with some experience. All that Obama is running on is whatever is opposed to GWB. The media has been completely shameless in their constant barage of attacks against our sitting president. My heart goes out for President Bush because he has in fact, done a fine job as the commander-in-chief prior the ‘06 elections. The real blame for our current situation should be accurately assessed against the current majority democratic legislative body. I couldn’t imagine the mainstream media characterizing it with any honestly.

The reason US companies are taking their businesses out of this country is four fold:
1) Cheap labor,
2) Less regulation by gov’t.,
3) Significantly less corporate taxes, and
4) Protection from costly frivolous lawsuits (via international law).

Everything Obama stands for will only further drive businesses out of this country (labor unions, more regulation, increased corporate taxes, and no torte reform–allowing ambulance chasing to continue, he is a lawyer after all).

McCain is much more likely to produce the results you say you want.

Sounds like they were fighting for equal treatment of minorities who had similar qualifications, but were being denied loans due to their race. What’s wrong with being treated equally if you have the same/similar qualifications? I don’t think this example really proves your point.
